LMAS-SHS: A Lightweight Mutual Authentication Scheme for Smart Home Surveillance

In an age where technology is getting smarter, the schedule of the human being is equally becoming dense. Right from dawn his /her pursuit starts quite unaware of immediate surroundings including the household. He/she just locks the door with the hope to control it from the working place. This however is not immune to attacks from hackers who may easily rob the valuables. To overcome these impending threats we have attempted to connect all valuables in the household and could be safely monitored/ contro lled via mobile. The proposed security scheme is lightweight, efficient, and effective in performance while offering secure transmission sessions among all the participants. The security of the proposed mechanism has been formally tested using GNY (Gong -Needham- Yahalon) logic, ProVerif2.03, and informally using pragmatic illustration. By comparing it with many of the existing schemes, it has been demonstrated that the proposed scheme is lightweight in terms of computation and communication metrics.
