The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems was established under the College of Teachers in 1424H. The department has since started its march towards teaching students computer science until the Faculty of Science and Arts was established in Bisha as one of the branches of King Khalid University in Asir region by the decision of the Higher Education Council No. 7/45/1428 H, glowing with the supreme approval No. 3030 / 1428. On the 2nd of Jumada II 1435 AH corresponding to April 3, 2014, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him, issued a decree establishing the University of Bisha, and the department continues to provide services to the students and the university. Since its inception, 478 students have joined the department.
And recently, after the issuance of the decision of the Rector No. 36365/4/58 on 26/8/1438 on the restructuring of the Faculty of Science and Arts in Bisha to become the Department of Computer Science nucleus of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, the department wore the new dress, to embark on his journey towards a better future For his students and associates. The department has set the goal of achieving leadership in the field of education, scientific research and community service in the field of computer science according to quality standards and academic accreditation. He also assumed the responsibility of preparing highly qualified students in the field of computer science through the provision of distinguished education and innovative scientific research, which contributes effectively to building a competitive knowledge society.
And for a moment to take the department in its entirety so that he began to modernize programs in line with recent developments in the field of computer science. In order to prepare qualified graduates in the field academically and applied, and able to practice continuous learning and self-development. And qualify them to the labor market locally and regionally, to be a good building block in building the community adhering to the book of God and the year of Prophet (peace be upon him) and follow the ethics of the profession. The department also seeks to obtain academic accreditation from national and international institutions, to become a beacon of beacons of science adopted at the University of Bisha young.
