Academic counseling is defined as a process aimed at helping the student to discover his / her abilities and capabilities in order to assist him in making decisions related to his study plan, and to help him overcome the difficulties that may hinder his academic path. For this purpose, the educational departments provide a faculty member as an academic advisor for each student during his / her academic path, where the students of the department are divided into small groups, and each group of students has an academic advisor.

  1. Guidance and counseling of students regarding personal, social and academic adjustment difficulties and assisting them in problem-solving and decision-making.
  2. Preparing preventive and educational programs to help students understand self and define identity, to promote values, and to exploit opportunities to acquire skills and develop capabilities.
  3. Support and promote growth in various psychological, social and academic aspects for students and create opportunities for self-development through training programs and interactive activities, and work to prepare students to fulfill their social roles in the family, profession and in community service.
  4. Helping the university’s faculty and staff members to understand and meet the students ’needs, through awareness and counseling programs that include clarifying the characteristics and needs of the university student, and how to invest in thinking and remembering activities to build the student’s personality, and enhance his benefit from the university environment.
  5. Facilitating university services that raise the level of students ’academic achievement, and in a way that reveals the scientific ambition of these students and what benefits them in the course of their lives.
  6. Introduce the student to the university bylaws and regulations, and the various counseling services provided to him, that clarify his rights and duties.
  7. Helping students to define their goals, and refine their various skills to benefit them now and in the future.
  8. Facilitating administrative procedures provided to students in accordance with academic standards within the comprehensive quality framework pursued by the University of Bisha.
  9. Directing students to prepare and plan for their scientific and professional future after graduation.
  10. Working on guiding students and introducing them to the credit hour system, and everything that leads to their academic excellence, and providing appropriate support to each student at the time he / she needs.
