About the Departme​nt


In order to achieve the university goals and believe in the importance of training human cadres in the field of applied medical sciences the study began in the nursing department in the academic year 1430-1431 AH in order to achieve leadership in the field of nursing scientifically and researchally in light of modern scientific and technical quality standards in the field of nursing.

Program Mission


Leading the fields of nursing, scientific research and community services in the light of national and international quality standards to address the evolving health care needs of the population and to advance the profession of nursing.


​Program G​oals


1. Providing prefect nursing education that qualifies the nursing students for labour market according to international quality standards.

2. Providing the public and private healthcare sectors with competent and well-trained nursing graduates.

3. Ensure proper training for student to acquire skills needed for high quality nursing care, management and safety.

4. Participate actively in community health services by providing appropriate health education and counseling services through collaboration with various community agencies to enhance social responsibility.

5. Demonstrate the professional standard of moral, ethical and legal issues when communicating with patients, healthcare professionals and the community.

6. Conducting scientific research to community health problems by updating evidence for improving nursing practices.

Program Learning Outcome


K1 -Demonstrate understanding of medical knowledge and nursing skills that contribute to maintain health of individual, family and community.

K2 - Critically understanding of the appropriate social sciences that underpin and contribute to community and public health.

K3 - Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of concepts and principles of leadership, health management education, epidemiology, and research methodology.

S1 - Critically formulate the plan of care for patients with different health disorders based on health needs.

S2 - Provide safe, appropriate nursing care based on the best available evidence to patient, and families across a life span.​

S3 - Continuously evaluate the effect of care delivered and alter care according to changing needs and circumstances.

S4 - Communicate professionally through using digital information and advanced communication technology with the health team members, patients and community members with respect of legal and ethical issues.
