A short Summary about the Department
The Department of English Language was inaugurated as one of the main departments at the College of Science and Arts in Al-Namas in 1430/1431 AH, and it provides a bachelor’s degree in the English language. It teaches the students of the department and the students of other departments the Basic English skills as a requirement in the first year. There is a number of Teachers (Saudis and Non-Saudis) who teach the students English language skills, linguistics, English language literature and translation. The courses were prepared in systematic ways with a high degree of competence that qualify the students for distinguished academic achievement.

The department's vision is offering an outstanding bachelor's program in the English language through achieving educational quality in the academic program and in cognitive and skillful activities.

The department's mission is providing its students with academic qualifications, language skills to enable them to meet the needs of the labor market and to communicate effectively with other peoples and cultures.
The Department Objectives
The department aims to:
1. Provide the labor market with graduates who can meet the requirements of the labor markets.
2. Meet the local needs of English language teachers.
3. Supply the local market with qualified and proficient staff of the English language.
4. Refine the students' language skills that qualify them for research and postgraduate studies.
5. Refine the high competitive capabilities in the fields of language, literature, translation, media, public relations and communication.
6. Provide the students with cultural information that helps them to interact with other cultures.
