History in Brief

 The college was established under the name of the intermediate College in An-namas. It was affiliated to the General Presidency for Girls’ Education {(The Girls Colleges Agency). The decree of its establishment was issued in 22/12 1412H.) Decree no. 1/615E/1 D)}. The period of study was two years. Then the college was modified to be called the College of Education for Female Teacher Preparation {decree no.11/11734) dated (2/4/1421H)}.This decree was issued by His Excellency the President of the General Girl Education. The study period was increased to become four years. The graduates were granted a BA degree in Education and Sciences. This college then was annexed to King Khaled University in Abha in 5/6/1428 H.

A decree of the Higher Education Council {no. 10/50/1429H (dated10/7/1429)} was issued recommending the restructuring of Girls’ Colleges of King Khaled University. Accordingly, the college was renamed as the College of Sciences and Arts –Boys-Girls {Decree No, 1/54) dated 6/1/1430)}. This new college included the following departments: Islamic Studies, Arabic, English, Home Economics, Mathematics, physics, Information system and Business Administration.
