About the Department

       The Department of Arabic Language was opened at the College of Education in Al-Namas Governorate in 1421 -1422 AH. It was opened for felmale students. At the beginning, it was only for regular female students. Then in 1423 -1424 AH the door was opened to study through affiliation. Until this year (1441-1442 AH) Five batches graduated from this department. The annual average number of admissions to the department was 150 regular students and 100 affiliated ones. By the year 1428-1429 AH, the number of regular female students reached 130 students. The students study a range of specialized linguistic courses with some other educational and supportive ones.

The Vision:  

    The Department of Arabic Language is looking forward to advancing its arts and using Classical Arabic in all fields and preserving the Arabic tongue from extraneous terms, wrong pronunciation and errors, by advancing the department in its various fields of literature in its two types (poetry and prose),in grammar, morphology, Arabic rhetoric, literary criticism, language and readings. The department seeks out to qualify and encourage female students to pursue postgraduate studies.

 The Message:

    The Department of Arabic Language is one of the literary departments of the College of Science and Arts for Girls in Al-Namas, which works on:

  • Contributing to the educational and cultural advancement of female students, and helping them mastering all Arabic language skills.
  • Trying to eliminate the problems that encounter both the learner and the recipient.
  • Reaching the summit of literary creativity through the Arabic language arts.
  • Graduating females who are able to educate future generations and raise their literary, scientific, cultural and moral level.

Objectives:

  • Developing the scholarly experiences of students in the field of teaching.
  • Graduating teachers with scholarly and educational qualifications.
  • Using modern technology to serve the educational process.
  • Teaching the students how to use the educational aids in teaching the courses.
  • Developing students' scientific research skills.
  • Ensuring the belonging to the Arabic language.
  • Preserving the Arabic language as the language of the Holy Quran
  • Activating the role of the Arabic language as the language of advertisements, libraries and posters.
  • Preparing teaching programs in various fields.​
